Posted: 08 May 2011 10:00 AM PDT X-ray Fluorescence (XRF): A method for elemental analysis of samples based on the characteristic fluorescence radiated by various elements exposed to X-rays. In core examination, X-ray fluorescence typically is used to help determine mineral content.
